STEPHENSON & Alexander have been crowned property adviser of the year for Wales by Estates Gazette.

The firm, which has offices in Cardiff and London, provides an across-the-board property service and in the past few years has significantly ramped up its investment work.

It recently acted on one of the biggest office investment deals in London with the £124m acquisition of Governor House, which serves as the headquarters for Prudential.

Moreover, Cardiff-based Dovey Estates has been named Welsh property company of the year by Estates Gazette – a leading trade publication for property sector.

Peter Graham, lead director of Stephenson & Alexander, said, "We have great clients who we enjoy working with and they clearly like us. It is a huge vote of confidence in the personal attention we give to clients.

"Also, I believe the award recognises the increased geographical area of influence for us and is an indication of how far the firm has moved forward in the 12 years since I have been here, with a strong team and a London base which significantly improves our contacts with London-based clients."

The firm specialises in property investment work and development as its main focus in South Wales, London and the M4 corridor.

Dovey Estates, which is behind a range of commercial and residential-led developments in South Wales, is led by Leonard Dovey and Mike Baroth.

Managing director Mr Baroth said, "The award means a great deal to us, particularly as we were selected by the commercial property industry as a whole. We have been investing in and developing property for many years, but in recent years we have enjoyed a period of unprecedented growth and success for the company.

"We are currently involved in several major projects in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Cardiff and South East Wales. It is a very exciting period."
